Happy 4th of July;
I think our first Zoom Mt went well. There was a total of 58 cars in attendance. Only 5 Porsche’s. Maybe more next year. I want to thank Tom Moffitt for covering all the makes with his Carrera, Mustang and Corvette. Way to go Tom. We raised almost $3000 for the zoo between sponsor fees and participant registration. Thanks to all who participated.
Our trip this month is to Phillipsburg via the Anaconda-Pintlar Scenic Route on July 16th & 17th. If you have never driven thru the area it is truly spectacular with the mountain ranges, valleys and Georgetown lake. We have block of room at the Holiday Inn Express in Butte. Their number is 406-782-2000 under the Absaroka Region Porsche club. These rooms will be held until July 8th, so make your reservation soon. We are meeting at the usual place, the Holiday near Gable Rd at 8:00 am with an 8:30 departure. We will stop in Whitehall for lunch. Either picnic or there is a Subway and A&W right off the interstate. If we want to be brave we can go over Pipestone pass from their or get back on the interstate on to the Pintlar Scenic route and Phillipsburg. There we can check out the Granite County Museum, mine for sapphires at Gem Mountain and have a cold one at the Phillipsburg Brewery. I have not selected a restaurant in Butte. There are several good ones so we can decide once we get there. Maybe you have a favorite place you could recommend.
Dan and I are working on the plans for the All Euro Car Show on August 20th. Please save the date. Volkswagen is our showcase car this year so if you know of any VW fans please invite them. I would like to rent the digital sign on 4th Avenue for a week prior to the show. I got a rate of $300 for the week. Any suggestions as how we can raise these funds. Our show sponsors are Dana Motors and Underriner Motors.
Cars of Coffee with the Corvette and Mustang club is July 31th at 10:00 am at the Shiloh Crossing City Brew.
We have a new member. Rick Brookshier is restoring a 1974 914. He is in need of some electrical work so if you know of someone who could help him out please let me know and I will pass on the info. Also, thank you to Jerry Jones, Fred Magers and David Sage for re-newing your membership.
I have word that a Tim Pfister has a 2003 Silver 911 Carrera for sale. He can be contacted at 671-3532 if you are interested.
Well have a great summer and see you at breakfast on July 9th at Grains of Montana.
