Regions across PCA are all doing drives to celebrate, and Absaroka will be taking part in the celebration as well.

Our PCA Birthday Drive will be breaking out the region’s crown jewel, the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway and Beartooth Highway Loop.

The drive will be a full day covering a total of 250ish miles. We’ll begin in Billings, and travel south towards Cody, Wyoming, where we will then turn onto the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway (296).

The Chief Joseph Scenic Byway winds up the mountain to Dead Indian Summit where we will make a short stop at the overlook. Then its down the backside of the mountain with another short stop at the high bridge over Sunlight Creek.

After Sunlight Creek, its nonstop to the next leg the Beartooth Highway.  At the Top of the World Store, around 1:00 PM, we will meet up with sister PCA Region – Big Sky, for a combined drive over Beartooth Pass to Red Lodge, Montana. In Red Lodge, will have lunch at a location to be determined.

We will have a competitive event at lunch between Big Sky Region and Absaroka Region. Hint, brush up on your PCA National, Big Sky Region, Absaroka Region histories!  Big Sky will be quizzed on Absaroka and Absaroka on Big Sky histories in addition to PCA History.

After lunch, we’ll return toward Billings, Bozeman and home.

Big Sky Region will be travelling from Bozeman, over to Gardiner, through Yellowstone NP to Cooke City, Montana and meeting up with us at Top of The World Store.
