Herb’s President’s Message – May 2018

Winter has finally decided to release her grasp, so we can put away the snow shovels, get out the lawn mowers and best of all our cars! April had another great turnout for breakfast and the tour to Chico last weekend enjoyed a beautiful Saturday drive. As usual the accommodations and the company were top notch. For two couples it was their first “wine cellar” experience and hope to see them again next year. We are still working on details about other events this year and hope to get a final schedule together soon. Great ideas for day trips so far, but always looking for fresh ideas! Our next event is breakfast again, see you there!

Herb’s President’s Message – January 2018

Well everyone, it’s time to say goodbye to 2017 and look forward to a new year.

I hope somehow our club left some good memories for all; the great get together at the Krueger’s and Hasbrouck’s, the road trips, and maybe the All Euro Car Show.

For 2018 we will be planning our 40th   Anniversary event, we are considering a commemorative mug or glass, and maybe a German car show at Oktoberfest, a local German restaurant.  Ideas for this, or any other event are greatly appreciated.

Lastly, while this is a time for family and friends, I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you to think about your car.  I’m sure most of them are tucked away snugly for the winter, but now is the perfect time to order that “one little part” or to consider what maintenance needs to be scheduled before the driving season.  If the weather allows it wouldn’t hurt to start them up and get those fluids moving. And don’t forget about breakfast at Grains of Montana the second Saturday of January, hope to see you there!

Stephanie’s President Message – July 2017

Happy 4th of July,

I have to say that our trip to the Charles Ringer Gallery and Studio was quite amazing.  Our drive there was beautiful as always and lunch at the Red Lodge Brewery was very good.  The weather was impeccable, then onto the gallery on our way home.  Charles Ringer spent two hours with us giving us the grand tour of all three of his studios, the back 40, then onto to the gallery where we were able to see the finished product of several of his pieces.  His entire property is scattered with his creative art.

July is Porsche Parade month.  We have a great group heading off to Parade, some of us on different days, but we have a small group heading over together on Saturday, July 8th.  Please note, I will not be at breakfast, but don’t let that stop you from attending and meeting other members.  Hopefully we can all meet for lunch on Monday, July 10th.  Tom Moffett has made reservations for us at Anthony’s of Spokane, 510 N Lincoln at 1:00 PM.  I hope all of our Absaroka members will be able to make it.  The club is buying lunch.  I am staying at the Davenport Tower, as well as several of our other members.  Hopefully, we can all connect while we are there.  I am participating in the Auto Cross on Wednesday, so if you want a good laugh, come watch me!

For our members that are not attending Parade, we have not left you out for events.  We have a drive and lunch planned to Cooke City for July 22nd.  We have invited the Mustang and Corvette clubs to join us, so we will see how many come along.  We will meet at the Holiday Station on Gabel Road at 9:00 AM with a 9:30 AM departure.  We will take the Chief Joseph Highway to Cooke City, have lunch, and return home over the Beartooth Highway.

Also, please don’t forget our 10th Annual All Euro Car Show on August 26th.  I would love to see lots of our members attend this year.  I have been working really hard trying to get the word out.  I have our posters and the tickets, so if you want to help pass them around just let me know and I will be happy to get some to you.  We need all the help we can get from our members.

I would like to thank Ernie Bunn, Nicholas Hessy, Stephanie Krueger and David Sage for renewing their membership.  We appreciate all of you and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

I hope to see you soon.

Stephanie Haider

Stephanie’s President Message – May 2017

Stephanie BeartoothsHello Spring;

We are not having typical spring weather.  We could use some sunshine but I guess the rain is better than snow and it is nice to see things blooming and turning green.

Our trip to the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, WY was a beautiful but windy drive.  Lunch was great at the Pony and the museum was very unique inside and out.  Thanks to those that attended.

This month is our trip to Chico.  You are welcome to join us for the drive to Gardiner for lunch.  We will be leaving from the Holiday Station on Gable Rd at 9:30 am.  We will meet the Bozeman people at Albertson’s in Livingston then drive the East River Road to Gardiner for lunch at the Iron Horse Bar & Grill.  For those spending the night, you will be on your own until dinner in the Wine Cellar at 6:30.  Let’s hope it is a little warmer this year.

We cannot make the trip to the Tippet Rise Art Center in June as they do not open until June 30th.  Instead, we will take the drive from Billings, Columbus, Roscoe, lunch in Red Lodge at the Brewery then onto Charles Ringer Museum in Joliet.  We will depart from the Holiday station at 10:00 AM.

If you are interested in our trip to Jackson Hole on September 23rd I have a block of 8 rooms at the Quality 49’er Inn & Suites.   The rate is $219 + tax.  Please call 800-451-2980 to make reservations.  Mention Confirmation #45K1OM.  The rooms are under my name.

For those of you that are attending Parade in Spokane I would like for all of us to meet for lunch on Monday after Concourse.  Due to everyone’s schedules this might be the best time for all of us to meet.

We will be returning to Grains of Montana for breakfast.  Bernie’s was good food, but it was just way to noisy.

Thank you to Lee Kennedy, Henry Mellgren, Greg Kohn and Dennis Zeiler for renewing your membership.  I hope to see you at one of our events.

Stephanie’s President Message – April 2017

Stephanie Beartooths

Happy Easter;

I would like to say thank you to the members that attended the tech session at MARS.  They did a great job explaining their car care products and enhancements you can make to your vehicle.  I think we all learned how to take better care of our cars, not just our Porsches.  I know Jack and Patty Burke were very happy, as they won the drawing to have their car used as a demo.  I know I will be having some work done on my car.

Our event this month is our trip to the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wy on April 15th.  We will meet at the Flying J in Lockwood at 9:00 am for a 9:30 am departure.  Lunch is going to be at the Sanford Grub Pub and Brewery in Sheridan.  Please RSVP so we can make lunch reservations.  There is a $10 entry fee to the museum.

Our Chico trip is coming up on May 6th.  Sorry, but the rooms and restaurant are full, but you are welcome to come for the day.  Enjoy the drive and join us for lunch in Gardiner at the Iron Horse Bar and Grill.

I have heard good things about Bernie’s Diner in the Northern Hotel.  This month we will meet there for breakfast, rather than Grains of Montana at the usual time, 9:00 am.

I hope you have a Happy Easter and enjoy spring.  See you at breakfast.
